The latter, always well placed, rallied mildly under pressure, but could not overtake the leader. EQUIPPED showed an even effort. SATIN CAP caught only tired horses in the stretch run. FLEMINGSBURG was through early. JOHNNIE J. was taken up when caught between GUERRILLA and SON OF HEELS at the first turn, moved up rapidly to take command, but quit badly once headed.
