well handled responded readily when set down in the stretch and after savaging PLAQUEMINE near the finish held the latter safe The stewards disqualified SCOTLAND YARD for fouling PLAQUEMINE and placed him second PLAQUEMINE a sharp factor from the start went to the front after threeeighths held a short lead when settled in the stretch and knocked off stride when savaged by SCOTLAND YARD came again but just missed PLAQUEMINE was placed first after SCOTLAND YARDS disqualification JOURNAL slow to reach best stride and outrun to the upper turn made up ground steadily thereafter while racing on the extreme outside but could not threaten the leaders LEONIDAS failed to rally when set down in the drive SASSY PATRICIA tired after showing early speed JELLICO weakened during the stretch run FRANK
