Delaware Set for Opening Racing Officials Approved ApprovedDELAWARE DELAWARE PARK Stanton Del May 27 With the first field going postward just two days away finishing touches have been put tm the compact and picturesque plant on the outskirts of Wilmington and everything is in readiness for the tradi ¬ tional opening at 230 p m daylight time on Saturday SaturdayRacing Racing secretary J Gilbert Haus has been hard at work in his track office since the first of the week making sure that everything goes off according to plan planSaturdays Saturdays opening feature will be the timehonored Wilmington Handicap at six furlongs a 10000 added event that is ex ¬ pected to draw a field of 18 or more sprinters sprintersAssisting Assisting Haus in the racing secretarys office will be John P Turner Jr and Sid ¬ ney S Brown Stewards for the session will be George Brown Jr representing The Jockey Club Joseph F Flanagan Jr Del ¬ aware Racing Commission and William Harron Delaware Steeplechase and Race Association the host organization The remainder of the officials already approved by The Jockey Club follow Starter George R Palmer clerk of scales James Picarillo placing judges Sidney S Brown Edward Denninson and James P Ross Jr patrol judges Henry Erickson Allan W Doc Lavin F G Pat Farrell and William Doyle paddock judge Wil ¬ liam Jennings associate paddock judge Tom A H Smith timer Richard A John son track veterinarian Dr D W Crosmam
