The spring meeting at Louisville is one that turfmen annually look forward to with pleasant anticipation of high class racing, nor are they ever disappointed. The glories of the Kentucky Derby constitute one of the bright pages of American turf history and the leaser stake events compare favorably in interest with those of the other jockey clubs of the country. The chief event of the list now offered is the new Turf Congress Stake which has wisely been made a handicap for three-year-olds and upward and with its ,000 added money should, and no doubt will, attract the cream of the Western handicap horses. Its distance is a mile and a sixteenth and it will be sure to at once take rank with the most important of the Western spiing handicaps. Tho other stakes are the Debutante, Wenonah and Juvenile stakes for two-year-olds. The Premier, Mademoiselle and Bluegrass stakes for three-ysar-olds and the Frank Fehr stakes for three-year-olds and upward, consideration of their liberal terms is commended to owners throughout the WeBt.
