Went to post at 2 :15. Off at the first break to a good start. Won handily ; second, third and I fourth driving hard. Denizulu is a grand looker and ran like a good colt. He has worked well. I will improve from this race and can be marked to beat better ones. Flick broke from behind with the colt well on his stride and was always iu a good position. At the head of the stretch i Denizulu seemed inclined to loaf but when Flick shook him up he came away finely. Kid Cox ran his race and and it was a good one. He showed early speed and hung on well under punishment through the stretch. Harry Herendeen finished stoutly after running all around his field. Lea Newell showed speed but could not carry it far enough. Scratched— 17799* Boomerack, 113: 17799 Curd Gillock, 106. Winner— Ch. g, by Long Taw— Meddle. Went to post at 2 :50. At post 12 minutes. Start good. Won in a long, hard drive of two; third, fourth and fifth were driving also. Meddler got away in the rear division, but was cleverly ridden and ran one of his good race6. Kiley saw he had no chance to get through on the first turn, so waited with the old horse until he got straightened away down the backstretch. Then Meddler weaved his way to the front gradually and at the head of the stretch he seemed to be winning easily. Opposite the paddock, however, Rollins came to and passed Meddler, but the latter, in the drive home, displayed great gameness and this enabled him to win. Ray H. ran a fine race. So did Leando. He will do to watch from now on. Myosotis stopped as if short as also did Globe II. Annowan acted badly at the post and kicked everything within his reach. Winner— Ch. f. by Cayuga— Cheese Straw. Went to post at 3 :25. At post 13 minutes. Start fair. Won easily. It was a terrific drive for second place. Cheesestraw acted badlv at the post and caused all the delay but eventually got away flying and was never fully extended. Louisville ran a good race. So did Fidel Youlin after she got into her stride. The latter was all tangled up at the start, otherwise she would have been a keen contender. Lovable is not much and about ran her race. Insurrection got away poorly and was much used early. This naturally told on her aad she tired at the end. Mitten showed fine speed but was short. Zeriba was much used at the post but showed speed in the race and will do to watch. Scratched- 17817 Sallie Regent, 99. Overweights— Cheesestraw, 2i pounds; Fidel Youlin, 2; Sorrel Rose, 4. Winner— Ch. h, by Pardee— Outstep. Went to post at 4 :00. At post 13 minutes. Start good and without the barrier. The first two 1 were driving to the limit. Molo is in rare form and ran an excellent race. He was under a drive ■ from the three furlong post home and stood it gamely. Boney Boy improved suddenly and under • strong handling came near landing. Martin seems to be too light to handle Topmast. The old I horse seemed to have a winning chance on the stretch turn but the boy got tired. Jolly Roger • was bumped on the first turn. This caused him to sulk and Silvers could not get him going ; again until the stretch was reached. Red Pirate ran a good honest race. Strangest had a rough 1 journey. So did Hoods Brigade, who came near falling on the first turn. Donna Rita showed I some speed. Scratched— 17783 Knightbanneret, 95. Overweights— Strangest, 5 pounds ; Julius Caesar, 3-1. Mi6s Daniels is a good looker and a fine filly. She acted green at the barrier and 1 got away poorly, but made up her lost ground gradually and outran the others in the stretch. . Gibson Girl improved as the price lengthened out. She showed a smart turn of speed and ran a • really good race. Fridoliu, under a poor ride, did well. The filly tried to run out at the head of f the 6tretch. and to a certain extent succeeded. Lillie Pantland had no excuses. She got away 1 running and had clear sailing, but quit badly in the stretch. The winner was run up to 00 and 1 bought by Albert Simons. Miss Daniels, place, 8 to 5 ; show, 4 to 5. Second and third were hard driven. Minyon broke flying, showed great speed and was always far in front of the others. Martin wanted to make sure of winning and whipped the filly all through the stretch. San Mateo got away well and ran a good race. Braw Lad could never get through until on the stretch, and then it was too late. Rival Dare was right there all the way. From a poor beginning Golden Rattle ran a winning race.
