Winuer-B. c. by Galore- Minerva. Went to post at 2:15. At post 7 minutes. Start good. Won easily ; second, third and fourth doing their best. Prince Plenty was skilfully handled ami considering it, was his first, start he ran a good race. Caywood had to shake him up a trifle on the stretch turn but after that the Prince had everything his own way. Tamer, always prominent, made a strong bid opposite the paddock but hung a trifle under punishment at the end. Ross broke flying with Lydia S. and on , the first turn interfered with everyone near him. Orlandine made up ground throughout. Crest, heavily backed, showed but little speed and was a false alarm. It was a very ordinary lot. Prince Plenty, place, 4 to 1 ; show, 2 to 1. Tamer, place, 2 to 1 ; show , evens. Lydia S., show, 3 to 1. John W. Patton, place, evens ; show, 1 to 2. Went to post at 2 :50. At post 5 minutes. Start good for all but Anxious. Won without an effort • second driven out and fully extended. Third and fourth driving. The Cuban Girl is the best filly shown here so far and had an easy time in disposing of this lot. In fact Narvaez had a stout hold of the fillys head during the entire journey. Miss Daniels had no mischances and ran her best race. Ross drove her hard from the head of the stretch home. Cora Moree hardly knew what was expected of her and for a green one ran a good race finishing gamely under punishment. Lady Seabrook is a grand looking filly. She showed some early speed and should not remain in the maiden class long. Anxious had no chance to win from where she got away. Went to post at 3 :20. At post 4 minutes. Start good. Won hand ridden : second and third driving hard. Moroni liked the dead track, was ridden to perfeotion and won like a good race horse. He had some bad racing luck early but overcame this gamely and at the head of the stretch had i all of the others beaten. Sidbow had no excuses other than he is faint hearted. Meddler seemed [ to be going the easiest of the lot on the far turn, but when Kiley called upon him in the stretch , the old horse appeared to be all out and swerved badly. Brulare finished stoutly. Cora Havill II. led on suffrance and in the stretch fell back to her proper place. Moroni, place, out. Sidbow, place, 1 to 2 ; show, out. Meddler, show, 7 to 10. 1==7rtYA~i FOURTH RACE— 5-8 Mile. Winner— Ch. f, by Bobby Beach— Faithless. Went to post at 3 :50. Off at the first break to an excellent start. Won driving hard and out ; to the last ounce; second and third doing their best. May Beach broke flying, showed a phenomenal - turn of speed, but barely lasted long enough to stall off St. Cuthberts rush in the stretch. , The latter is a horse of fair class, but has bad legs and these seemed to hurt him in the last sixteenth. - Hermoso shot his bolt trying to stay with May Beach in the first three furlongs and in 1 the 6tretch stopped almost to a walk. This accounts for Emma M. being third. At that the latter - ran a good race and can win when placed right. Ailanto was never prominent, and this race s probably served as a workout for him. Winner— Ch. h, by Pardee— Outstep. Went to post at 4 :15. At post 4 minutes. Start good. Won handily at the end after an early T drive; second and third were under keen pressure. Molo was the best and went to the front on ] call. It looked rather dubious for him at one time down the backstretch, but Narvaez rated 1 along on the inside and waited until the natural spread came at the head of the stretch before 3 making his move. Straugtst was badly outrun in the first part of the race, but from the half-mile " ground home he closed ground rapidly. Waldo, on Maggie Davis took a desperate chance 9 to get through on the inside at the first turn and succeeded in getting through, too. This youngs-ster r is a dare devil. Red Pirate about ran his race. Nobleman showed speed and can win when . ridden by a competent jockey. Ed Gartland II. showed a surprising turn of speed. Holdup did 1 lii6 best. Second, third, fourth and fifth were driving to the limit. Barney Saal was lucky and showed the most speed of the lot. He broke running and was never hard pressed. Balk Line had no excuse whatever. He got a good send-off and was well handled. Maryland Reserve closed stoutly through the stretch.. After going about a sixteenth of a mile the field was badly strung out.
