BONEY BOY AGAIN The Hawthorne track only needad the heavy rainfall that set in just before the second race yesterday to make it about as bad as it could possibly be Mudlarks held a feast throughout the entire day The free handicap the most pretentious race on the program want to Boney Boy which took to the going as a fish takes to water and simply played with his field The Conqueror II opened as favorite but the talent would have none of him and Federal was soon made the first choice The effort of The Con ¬ queror II was one of the most disappointing seen hereabouts this year as he was almost fully thirty lengths back of the last horse at one stage of the race Federal kept Boney Boy close company for the first half whore the latter easily shook him off and remained in the lead tha rest of the journey winning hands down by four lengths while Federal beat Strangest ona for second place Federal showed great gameness in the last eighth and rallied strongly when called upon Henry of Trastamare had enough whan a furlong out Kentucky Babe which does not like the going ran the best race of her career and was right there at the finish finishOdnor Odnor showed hii peculiar liking for tho going by taking tho fifth race a dash of one i and oneeighth miles in very handy fashion from a fair field of mud runners He and Prince Blazes ran closely together for tha first quar ¬ ter where tha latter fell back a littlo and Pencil Me moved into the vacated poeition Pencil Ma laid up with the leader until passing beyond the half wharo Odnor easily draw away and the rest was easy sailing Ha won well in hand by two lengths from Prince Blazes who outhoaded Frangible for second place It was a spirited struggle between the last two in tho final eighth but Prince Blazes proved to bo tho better stayer Hermancia would not extend himself in the going goingTelamon Telamon finally dropped into a spot where he could earn an easy bracket It was in tha third race a dash of ona mile for threeyearolds He and Bt Bluff a rank outsider showed tha way for the first six furlongs where Talamou had no trouble in going to tho front Nothing afterward got anywhere near him and ha won almost as bin rider pleased by four lengths Argrogor was second two in front of Flying Torpedo Argragor tired badly in the last eighth and swerved toward tha inside rail railSam Sam Lazarus Esq on his good showing to Espionage two days before was thought to be best in the second race and he verified this be ¬ lief by winning rather easily by two lengths from Little Duchess II she boating Hart D seven for second place Aftar the first quarter had been run Sam Lazarus Esq always had a snug lead up to the last sixteenth where Gormley taking no chances rode him out hard to prevent the possibility of a hook up with the Little Duchess H Rival Dara could not run well in the going goingAmirante Amirante took the days opener in a sharp hook up with Lady Like in tha last sixteenth winning on the post by a neck She kept bear ¬ ing into Lady Like in the last hundred yards but it hardly made any difference in the result The Rabbit was third five lengths away It was a vary mediocre field fieldThe The last raca went to Charloy Moore long overdue He won rather easily by one length from the Bondman ho finishing six before Helen Paxton Captain Hamm supposed to be tho good thing ran well for six furlongs and than died away He apparently did not like the going and was a much exhausted horse in the last sixteenth A M Linnoll claimed Frangible out of the fifth race at Hawthorne yesterday yesterdayG G W Poolo is expected to arrive from Sara ¬ toga today with his ontiro string stringActing Acting it is said for someone else whose nama was not disclosed Stovo LHomtnedieu bought Bonay Boy yesterday for tha reported prico of 1500
