Fiddler III. also ran a good race under a bungling ride. Jack N illis had no mishaps. Alvin W., high in condition, was not up to a race in the going, but showed early speed. Elsie Bramble took kindly to the going, was hustled all the way and came on strongly at tne finish when Orlandine seemingly had ner beaten. Bloss rode her well in the pinch but lost a lot of ground by going to the rail at the three-eighths. Orlandine was much the best. She was cut off at the rust turn, then taken in the deep going near the rail aid kept there to the stretch. She was in front fifty yards from the finish but Bioss outrode Fanntleroy. Colonial Girl was excellently ridden in the good part of the track, ran Wakita and Wissendine into exhaustion, then came away and won cleverly enough at the end. Hunter Raine began slowly, but wound up by going fast and Etrongly. He would have won had he not been compelled to take the deep going at the finish. Wakita had no mishap. Sue Johnson was well ridden and had no mishaps. George Lee ran a dull race. Ben O Fallon did not seem to relish the going. Banquo II. and Monk Way man had box seats at the performance. Jake Weber was well saved in the long delay at the post while the others were tiring themselves in breakaways in the mud, vas off running, but was taken back and well placed to the stretch and came along on the beaten path and Dale outrode Bell at the finish. Salinda was probably best, but was made too much use of in setting paco. At that she probably would have won had Bell not let her swerve off the good track when he drew his whip in the last fifty yards. It was a good race for her. -Ben Frost closed up fast In the stretch.
