SAN FRANCISCO STAKES. Horse owners should take note of the fact that entries to the list of stakes that will be run at San Francisco prior to January 1, 1902, close next Monday at midnight. As winter racing goes these are highly important stakes, and owners who have iu mind a campaign ou the coast, cannot afford to overlook them. They are at varying distances and provide for about all classes of horses, being aa follows : The opening Handicap, 3-yoar-olds and upward, value ,500, 1 mile. The Produce Exchange Stakes, 2-year-olds, value ,500, 3-4 mile. The Golden Gate Shakes, 3-year-olds and upward, value ,500, 7-8 mile. The Crocker Handicap, 2 and 3-year-olds, value ,500, 6 1-2 furlongs. The Thanksgiving Handicap, 3-year-olds and upward, value ,500, 1 1-8 miles. The Burlingame Selling Stakes, 3-year-olds and upward, value ,500, 1 1-16 miles. The Trnx. Beale Handicap, 3-year-olds and upward, value ,500, 1 mile.
