GRAVESEND GOSSIP. Brooklyn, N. Y September 25. It is a remarkable fact that of Mr. William C. Whitneys brilliant trio of two-year-olds, Nasturtium, the bright particular etar, is on the sick list, Goldsmith, probably the best colt of his inches ever seen in this country, is still suffering from re- cent savors injuries, and Blue Girl hiB lost her form entirely, and therefore ho is uufortuuately without a candidate to pit against John W. Schorrs champion filly Endurance by Right, Clarence Mackays Heno being the only colt to enter the lists against her in the forthcoming Bpecial race at three-quarters of a milo, arranged by Secretary Mclntyre for next Saturday. The Brooklyn Jockey Club adds ,500 to a sweepstakes of 50 each. An innovation in starting without the recall flag was tried today in the first, second and sixth races. The favorites in the second and last races were, practically left at the post.
