Mercer, fresh and good and lucky always, ran a good and has always shown good form on this track. Astor finiahfld gamely, but 1p eked his usual fine burst of speed and found the track too hard probably. Kilogram finished very strongly after having been taken up repeatedly on the back-stretch. Sweet Tooth ran indifferently for him. The Burlington .Route was prominent to the last furlong, showing a lot of speed. Bowen stumbled at the start and put up a game, stern chase but waB not good enough at the weight. Trebor finished with a rush and is good. Lee King showed unusual early speed but the track was too hard for him. Kalif, off badly and having scant chance with his jockey, ran a good race. Rafaello would not extend himself on the hard track. Potente was carefully nursed in a comfortable rear position of the fast pacemakers, caught them tiring in the stretch and is in his best form. Oom Paul was probably best and should have won, but was sent along at too fast a clip and he found the long stretch vary trying. He is a good colt and CONTINUED ON FIFTH PAGE, AQUEDUCT FORM CHART-CONTINUED ran a cracking race at the weight. Barouche pat up a Bpeady and game effort and should win soon. Alfred Vargrave closed a big gap. Bellario quit badly after running a good half and looked as if he had broken down, the collapse was so sudden and unexpected. HiB race was too bad to be trna. OHagen, off badly, closed with a fine burst of speed throughout the laet quarter. He is vory good and will prove unbeatable by this class in mud. Mowich showed a lot -of spaed.
