BACEBS AT AUCTION. Before the races began at the Morris Park track Saturday afternoon a weeding-out sale of race horsaB in training and yearlings, the property of W. C. Whitney, T. Hitchcock. Jr., Perry Belmont, Sydney Paget and otherB, took place in the saddling paddocks. The three-year-old Paul Clifford, in the Whitney lot, who ran thirteon times this season and was in the money each time, was the star of the sale J. H. McCormick secured him for ,000. Mr, Whitney refased an offer of ,000 for Paul Clifford a day or two ago. The crack Bprinter Eedpatll commanded lively bidding and the firm of Buckley and Bailey waE the purchaser for ,650. The clever jumper Chara-grace, in the Beard lot, which was bought in by J. B. Beard when sold at Brighton Beach to Bet-tie the estate of the late F. D. Board for ,000, was knocked down to Frank Pierce for 00. Star Bright, which broke down early this season, failed to get a bid and was passed out . Following are the principal sales : Property of J.
