LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Albert Simons bid up and secured Andy Williams, the winner of ths second race, for ,900. This was an advance of 00 over the horses entered price. G. B. Tompkins has sold to F. D. Weir at private terms King Barleycorn. Ed Adack, which was bid up by Mr. Tompkins to ,800 and secured by him after the horse had won The Olympia Stakes, was resold to J. T. Stewart, his former owner. Judge Trevelyan stated yesterday that jockey Dupees ride on Helen Paxton was still being investigated, but the investigation would be concluded before the racing began today and the decision handed down during the afternoon. W. C. Overton sold the two-year-olds Lendin and St. Minor yesterday to Fred Cook. The reported price for the pair being ,500. C. B. Ellison will leave Wednesday for Saratoga, where he will remain throughout the meeting. The only horse that he will have racing at the Springs will be Captain Arnold, which is engaged in some of the two-year-old stakes there. Captain Arnold was shipped last week, in company with Articulate and several other horses, under the management of B. A. Smith.
