The Advocate ran in much improved form, came from behind in the stretch, stood a hard drive in the early stretch run and won eased up. Dr. Kammerer had speed, but stopped when challenged. Doc Mayer did his best and had no excuses. Bas dOr ran a good race and finished gamely. Light Opera was off badly, poorly ridden and closed fast. Luckett showed speed, but stopped. Sambo was away badly, went around his field, came fast in the stretch and overcame some gross fouling. Louis Wagner crossed him and threw Fagurtha onto Maggie Clopton, which bumped Sambo. Walsh then foubd Dale on Sambo. Louis Wagner ran a much better race and finished gamely. Fugurtha had speed, but tired.
