LOCAL TUEF GOSSIP. H. McDaniel, trainer for G. C. Bennett, returned yesterday from Lexington, where he had gone to inspect the fourteen yearlings belonging to his employer which are quartered at the track there. C. T. Boots good handicap horse, Argregor, was worked a mile after the third race yesterday. Jockey Jesse Mathews has sufficiently recovered from the fall on Ice King to be able to leave the Garfield Park Sanitarium. He left yesterday for his home in Hagerstown, Ind., where he intends to get fully rested before accepting any mounts. Jockey Hoar was suspended by the starter for three days for disobedience at the post in the third race. J. K. Redmon reported the death of the promising two-year-old filly, Deborah, yesterday from lockjaw. The judges, after fully investigating the ride put up by jockey Dnpee on Helen Paxton, decided to continue the suspension against "the rider for an indefinite period. They also will recommend the Western Jockey Club to revoke the license issued the jockey.
