Alee was much the best and simply played with the field, winning as his rider pleased. Jane Holly ran a good race. She began slowly, but moved up fast after the first half had been run and finished strongly, making up ground in the final quarter. Somersault was pinned in against the inside rail along about the last eighth post, but tired fast when she got clear sailing. Emma R. ran an unaccountably bad race. She showed early speed, but fell away badly beaten soon after turning for home. Regea quit in the last eighth. The others were not in the hunt. Overweights Jane Holly, 21 pounds; Nat Eggleston, 2. Poor Boy wore down Joe Buckley in the final eighth and was gradually going away at the end. Lendin began slowly and appeared to have little chance in the first half, but moved up fast in the final eighth, where he was pinned in next to the inside rail and never got through until the closing strides. Collonade was tiring slightly at the end. Ho had no mishaps and ran to his best form. Joe Buckley was well spent when a fnrlong out. He ran away an eighth of a mile to a false break, which may have spoiled his chances. Topsoil was scant of early speed, but was moving fast at the end. Huachuca moved up fast in the final quarter and easily passed into the lead. J. Wright was more of an incumbrance than a help to the willing If You Dare. He had him cut oil almost all the way and never got through until it was too late to be of advantage. Orla cracked a furlong out, after showing mnch speed. Lady Id r is showed much speed, but fell away badly beaten after running five furlongs. Delia Ostrand was an early contender only. Muresca wants the mud to run her best form. Gregor K. showed a sharp turn of speed, but was t.ring fast at the end and just lasted long enough to beat Tom Cogan on the post for second place. The latter finished stoutly under a vigorous ride. Harry New also swung wide when turning for home. He was easily the best of the others. Dewey ran fairly well and showed much improvement, but tired fast in the last eighth. Won in a canter; second easily. Chorus Boy, oil running, was never in trouble and simply ran away from his field. Urchin outstayed Rollick II. in the last sixteenth struggle for second place. The latter was given a weak ride and was badly pocketed in the first half. Ravensbury began slowly, but finished strongly. Temptress was well beaten when a furlong out. About showed early speed.
