Minder waited with Aden until in the final furlong before making his move. He then shook off Peter T. and Lowell without much effort, but had to be hustled along in the last sixteenth to stall off Pilaster. The latter finished with a rush and was wearing the winner down. Won handily ; second the same. Onyx II. was the best of a very poor field. He was off well in motion and was clear of all interference and came away without any trouble when his rider was ready. Pirate ran an impressive race and can beat this kind with a better rider up. Flora Hooper came to the outside at the stretch turn and finished strongly. She was gaining on the leaders at the finish. There was considerable crowding and jostling in the stretch, in which Tommy Knight and Extol suffered most. Ontonagon had no mishaps, and quit with his mouth open. Binehelio came with a burst of speed in the stretch and Minder outrode Martin when they hooked up. Lady Kent raced Foneda into snbjection, but Martin was not strong enough to do her justice when the pinch came. Afghan got third place in the last stride. It was very close between him and Pompino. The latter began slowly and came to the extreme outside at the stretch turn and finished strongly. Cute reared up when the barrier went up. Sidelight bolted on the backstretch. Premus was made too much use of in the early stages and was driving to the limit to stall of Axares. The latter came wide at the stretch turn and would have been second with a better rider.
