NOTES OF THE TURF. Julius Bauer was at Saratoga Sunday. While at the track he met John Madden, and after his return stated at Brighton Beach that the Whitney trainer told him three of his horses, including Yankee, had broken down. The others are Merry Reel and Medley, a full brother to Previous. It appears Yankee went wrong before the running of the Realization. He was not in good shape when he started for Horse Haven. According to Madden, he worked Yankee after reaching Saratoga, and he broke down during the trial.
