LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. Jockey Dominick was yesterday suspended from riding for an indefinite period by the judges. The ride he gave Burnie Bunton in the second race was not entirely to the liking of the officials and they had the jockey before them to explain why the mare showed but little of her speed in the race. After hearing what Dominick had to say they summoned J. F. Newman, the owner of the mare, and he stated that he had worked Burnie Bunton on Wednesday and she showed all her , old time speed. In addition to the work of Wednesday the mare was sent a fast furlong through the stretch yesterday. After hearing this the judges issued the notice of Dominions suspension. Ed Corrigan wired yesterday to Secretary Parmer of the Highland Park track for ten stalls. This indicates that the ex-master of Hawthorne will shortly send a part of his large stable to race at Highland Park and Windsor. Jockey Helgesen was fined 5 by the starter in the last race for breaking through the barrier. W. E. Phillips, acting for F. Cook, bought from K. P. Shipp the two-year-old Marlm, by Victory Lizzie D., and a yearling colt by Knight of Ellerslie Miss Fonso, for ,500. R. Tucker, trainer for S. S. Brown, has sold the two-year-old filly, Penance, to McCarthy and Flynn. Albert Simons claimed Stylo, which finished second in the first race, paying 75 for him. W. H. Laudeman, who owned Style, retaliated by claiming Joe Buckley, which finished third, paying ,175 forhim. The latter was entered to be sold for 00, while the former was entered for 00. Jockey Neely, who rode Lennep in the second race, wbb suspended by the starter for the remainder of the present Harlem meeting for his failure to break away from the post when told to do so. J. F. Schorr has sold to A. Tempest for 00 the horse Cork.
