KINLOCH THIS "WEEK. "The program for the first week of the Kinloch Park Jockoy Club meeting, which opens on Thursday, August 14, was issued yesterday, and all the horsemen were more than pleased with the schedule of events presented by Racing Secretary Clem.Creveling. All of them expressed their readiness, to participate in a meeting in which all the purse races and handicaps are free," says Fridays St. Louis Republic. "The hook shows twenty-two open and nine conditional races and five handicaps for the week, representing an outlay in pursos of 4,950. "On the first day there will be a six-furlong race in which several crack stake horses and selling platers will bo brought together at weights that will make it one of the best sprint events seen in St. Louis for a long time. "The two-year-old race on the same day lets all classes in at a fair allotment of weights and will bring together some of the bast horses from Chicago and St. Louis stables. "The Busch Handicap, for ,000, will also be run on the opening day, and many of the Chicago owners are expected to try for the prize. The other races on the opening day are selling events from six furlongs to a mile and seventy yards. "On the second day there will bo four selling and two condition races; on the third day two selling races, a maiden two-year-old race, a steeplechase over the short course and the Southern Hotel Handicap, for ,000 ; on the fourth day, four selling races, a condition race, six furlongs and mile handicap; the fifth day, three selling races, two condition races and the Bratton Steeplechase Handicap, over the short course, and on the sixth day there will be four selling and two puree races, one of which is for all ages at six furlongs. "Deep interest is manifested by the members of the Country Clubs polo players and other gentlemen riders of St. Louis in the special gentlemens race to be run on Friday, August 22. The winner of the event will bo presentad with a handsome cup valued at 00. The rider of the second horse will receive a valuable bridle and the third a whip. They will ride at forty pounds over the scale. "Starter J. J. Holtman, who is a St. Louis boy, will arrive here Tuesday moraing from Zanesville, Ohio, and starter Dwyer will be here on August 18. Presiding Judge Hopper will be in St. Louis Tuesday to assign the weights in the Busch Handicap, which will be run on the opening day. "The management of Kinloch yesterday completed arrangements with the Wabash Railway to transport the public to and from the track. Trains will loave Union Station at 1:15 p. m., 1 :45 p. m., 2:45 p. m. daily, and on Saturdays an additional train will leave at 1 :30 p. m. Trains will also leave the foot of Olive street at 11 a. m., 1 :30 p. m., 1:53 p. m. and 4:15 p. m. The average running time to and from the track will be thirty minutes. "Special arrangements have been made to have the 1:15 train stop at De Hodiamont every day for the benefit of owners stabling at Delmar Park. "Everything at the course is in shape for the meeting. The track and grandstand have been put in good shape."
