At post 4 minutes. Start good. Won handily; second easily. Serge displayed much speed, but, after passing the last eighth post, swerved sharply toward the outside rail, interfering with Kite Star and Daddy Bender. Serge was disqualified for interfering with Daddy Bender. The last named finished strongly under a vigorous ride. Kite Star tired perceptibly in the last sixteenth. Antonins came with a rush at the end, bat was lucky to win. Boomerack showed wonderful improvement and displayed keen speed thronghout, but Otis went to sleep at the end, allowing Antonius to nip him on the post. M. F. Tarpey showed improvement and bears watching from now on. Rival Dare is gradually rounding to her best form. Jane Hally had no chance from where she got off. David S. showed early speed, as did Fridolin. The winner, entered for 00, was run up to ,005 and bought in. Anchor moved up fast after the ninth jump and gradually wore down Walter Cloary in the closing strides. The latter ran to his best form and had no excuses. MacLaren finished resolutely and ran a good race. Old Fox fell over the ninth jump while in a contending position. Scorpio fell by trying to take too sharp a turn in the run down the stretch. Corrigan endured a long stretch drive with gameness and stood off Piederichs bid at the end with determination. The latter showed to good advantage and favored with the light impost ran to his best form. Corrigan won on account of Ranchs superior jockeyship over Hicks. Harry New faltered in the last sixteenth, where he appeared the winner. Lucien Appleby came with a rush at the end and finished much the strongest of the first four. Orontas appears to be of no present account. Scarlet Lily was well beaten after running seven furlongs. The track was probably a shade too slow for her. Hindi closed up fast turning for home and finished strongly next to the inside rail. Rheta finished with a rush. Flocarline began slowly, but made up ground fast when well straightened in the stretch. Hattie Walker, off flying, showed much speed, but tired fast in the last eighth. Bragg was much the best and after the first quarter had been run the result was never in doubt. He cut across Brulare at the start, causing the latter to lose position. Brulare finished strongly. Dr. Stevens showed much improvement. He tired fast a furlong out. Joe Frey showed a little early speed. He ran far below the splendid form shown his last out and his race was simply inexplicable.
