Nellie Bawn had speed but stopped. Flop closed up well in the stretch. Anything, off badly, ran an excellent race and will win shortly. Tom Collins was off badly and tired from the effort to get to the front. The Phoenician was all but left and the small boy on him could not help him. He needs a vigorous ride. He changed his whip twice and the horse ran well under it. Barklyite, miserably ridden, was an easy third. He swerved all over the track in the stretch. Scratched 34171 Miss Dora, 105. The first three were driving to the limit. Varro, well away, was well rated behiua the pace to the half mile, made a fast move at the three-eighths, but hung in the last quarter and had to be driven hard to win. Kittie Clyde had speed, whs taken back, came fast in the stretch and seemed to be best as the race was run. OConnor was not quite strong enough to help her, but he saved ground all the way, while Varro swung wide. Found was cut off at the start and had hard work to close ground. She tired in the run home, but might have won with an even break. W. li. Gates was cut off twice and lost much ground. He ran a winning race from where the mishap occurred. Edgardo is stale. Navarino ran a very nasty looking race. Scratched 342472Zzol, 103. Varro, show, out. Kittie Clyde, show, evens. Found, show, 6 to 5. W. B. Gates, show, 7 to 10. Val Varde is a bad actor, broke badly, but closed up a lot of ground in the strotch. Miss Knickerbocker was a keen contender to the last fifty yards, tut gave it up In the final contention.
