King Barleycorn was off flying and showed much speed, but tired at the end and won because Hoar outrode Sayers at the finish. Doela ran a good race, finished strongly and might havo won with a stronger rider up. Charles D. was off badly and cut off at the first turn, but closed up fast in the last quarter and was probably best. Mr. Mulkey quit in the stretch. Lelia May was best ridden and kept straight next to the rail while the field was swerving all over the track in the stretch and barely lasted long enough. Ruth L. was allowed to swerve all over the stretch and crossed the entire field twice in the last eighth. Hyland, badly ridden, was probably best, was coming fast at the eud and would have won in another stride. Sid Silver ran a great race from where he got off under a weak ride. Savond was going well when Battiste took him back next to the rail. Liska showed speed but tirnd. Anzeiger got off badly. Overweights Lelia May, 3 pounds; Doc Mayer, 1 ; Burlap, 1. Porphyrogene jumped well, as did Sherwood. The riders fell off of Terra Incognita. Grandad and Buck ODowd. Fearful ran a groat race and was a Bharp contender when Eggeruon fell off at the last jump. Bacchus, off badly, made a fast move at the half, pinched Hucena and Dodie S. into the bad going next to the rail and wore them down in the run home. Hucena ran a good race, was pocketed at the three-eighths and in the bad going in the stretch. Dodie S. was kept in the soft going next to the rail all the way and was crowded in the stretch run. She was probably best. Federalist showed much early speed and tired in the stretch. Brewer Schorr was sore when going to the post and appeared to sulk. Kittie G. showed a fine flight of speod and seemed to be an easy winner to the last eighth, where she swung wide looking for the good going and was eased up after straightening out. The Phoenician ran a good race, but tired at the eud. Belle Simp-on was cut off at the fir.-t turn and thrown off her stride. Skillman was well backed and ran a bad race.
