Dandie Belle displayed a smart turn of speed and easily led her field throughout, winning with much in reserve. Ringleader was put to a hard drive in the early stages to shake off Meggs, but at the end was drawing away rapidly. Meggs tired at the end from his early efiorts. Harry Duke unseated his rider while going to the post and jumped the track fence. Brissac bolted when the barrier was released and carried Vouch with him. Scratched 34616 St. David, 127. Miss Manners showed marked improvement and assisted by good handling outgamed her field in the run homa. F. G. Good suffered from early interference, but finished fast and was probably the best. Ontonagon raced himself into exhaustion in an attempt to keep up with Miss Manners. Lady Gallantry was gaining on the leaders at the end and finished strongly. Bismarck ran a dull race. Ocie Brooks showed speed, but is a non-stayer over a distance of ground. Boomerack showed improvement. So did Annu. The last three at the start had ; no chance whn the barrier was raised. Bill Massie assumed command at once and outpaced the field steadily until on the turn for home, where he faltered, but responded and came again under vigorous handling. Illowaho followed the winners pace for the first three-quarters, but failed to make good when called on for a final effort. Pay the Fiddler, skillfully handled, ran a surprisingly game race and, although driving to the limit, held Chopin safe in the last eighth. The latter was the recipient of a weird ride, in addition to meeting with sharp interference on the turn when he tried to get through. Senator Beveridge moved up fast from a slow beginning, but weakened when the deciding drive came. Maple ran a dull race. Ovor weights Martha Street. 21 pounds. Pay the Fiddler, show, 4 to 5.
