LOUAL TURF GOSSIP. A. Andrews, vice president of the California Jockey Club, was at the track yesterday. He will go on to New York and return here in a week or two and will then interview owners in regard to the coming California winter campaign. Mr. Durnell has plated McChesney and reports that the injury to the colts hoof is not nearly so serious as has been reported. He expects to have him at work soon and ready to race inside of a week. In this connection he says that all horses that have heretofore ran in his own name will hereafter run in the name of Durnell and Herz. The horses gathered by this firm will be campaigned at San Francisco, which means that McChesney will probably be a leading Burns Handicap candidate. Lacrimaes entry will be refused in future by the Harlem judges on account of her inconsistent running. Jockey Prior was indefinitely suspended for his ride on Burnie Bunton yesterday. Jockey Jackson, who was thrown from Messina in the second race, suffered a bad fracture of the nose. Durnell Sr Herz bought Boiling Boer oT S. C. Hildreth yesterday for the reported price of ,000.
