Bed Knight, away in his stride and lucky, led throughout and finished strongly. He is a "superior class colt and steadily improving. Africander worked a rough passage, was crossed on the turn, but with clear sailr ing in the stretch he closed up with a rush and was going fastest of all at the end. Joe Cobb ran a good race and is a much improved colt. Louise Collier was always prominent and held on very gamely. Sparkle Esher raced a fast middle quarter on the turn, running on the extreme outside. Monte Carl went well and is in good form. Sir Voorhies was crowded out of it at the turn. Scratched 33902. Rossignol is in rare form, waited on the pacemakers to the stretch, where she took the lead with a rush and won drawing away. Keynote, away badly, worked a rough passage through, closed a tremendous gap and finished strongly. Stevedore, skillfully ridden and lucky, held on gamely throughout. Sadduceo, under the light weight, held on unusually well, but is a non-stayer. Clonmell did not run his race and received a bad looking ride, Dr. Riddle was probably short and should improve. He displayed fine speed, bt tired in the stretch. Ohnet finished strongly. Scratched 343652Conundrum, 108; 25919 Hesper, 106; 346743 Ascension, 97; 34736 May J., 84. Rossignol, show, 3 to 1. Won driving; second easily; Girdle, a crack filly, fast and game, got away running and practically forced the pace and came away fast when straightened for the wire, but only lasted long enough to beat Dazzling. The latter got away poorly and came from a long way behind, was best and would have won in another stride. Ada Nay came through next to the rail and caught and beat Judith Campbell out for third place in the last stride. The latter ran a fine race at the weights. Hymettus ran well and is steadily improving. Merry Reel, away badly, was closiDg up strongly at the end. Love Note is improving and showed fine early speed. Igniter, fresk and goort and in remarkably improved form, followed Whiskey Kings fast pace closely and challenging in the last quarter outstayed the latter after a terrific drive. Whiskey King ran a fine race and hung om with unflinching courage. Heno was coming-fastest at the end and but for a bad fumble at the furloaff post by Bullman might have won. South Trimble was outrun and under pressure throughout, but was going strongly in the last quarter and easing np right at the end. Dixieline was evidently short and failed to stay. Daly, am improved horse, was skillfully handled and luckily placed, drew out in the stretch in decisive fashion and was best today at the weights. St. Finnan, in blinkers, held on unusually well and is a difficult horse to classify. Advance Guard had no mishaps. The distance was too short and the weight and sharp turns told against him. He was going strongly at the end, as usual. Slipthrift went a good mile and then fell out of it. Remorse quit after a good six furlongs. Andy Williams fell out of contention in the first quarter.
