Won. easily; second driving. Dusky Secret, lucky at the start, raced Ethelwinda and Gold Bride into submission and came away from the others in the laBt eighth and won with much in reserve. Mrs. Frank Foster suffered from early interference, but came strongly in the last quarter. Gold Bride, although well spent, was easily the best of the others. Florence H. had a rough trip and ran a good race. Ethelwinda faded away fast in the last furlong and was eased up. Scratched 34615 Jelsi, 102. Overweights May me, 3 pounds; Sadie O., 4. Won driving; second the same. Ocie Brooks waited on the leaders until in the last eighth, where she came away under punishment. The Bronze Demon and Emma C. L., set a fast, early pace, but were both exhausted from their early effort and were tiring badly at the end. Irish Jewel was outrun in the first three-quarters, but was closing stoutly at the end and would have won in a few more strides. Sir Kingston tired. Euclaire had much the worst f the start. Mexicana was frjeky at the start, broke well in motion, raced Friday and Gerda into submission and came away in the last furlong. Melbourne Eclipse was the best, and with any kind of a good start would have won. He was standing flatfooted when the barrier was released, and the field was fully a sixteenth in front when he took after them. Will Shields showed improved form and finished Etrongly. Illowaho was mnder restraint for the first half mile and moved up fast after that, caught Bill Massie on the stretch turn and dispose 1 of him easily. Bill Massie showed his usual speed in the early stages, but does not favor weight. Johnny McCartey began slowly and appeared to sulk in the first half mile, but came with a rush at the end after a wide stretch turn. ady Kent was disposed of early. She does not want to be carried along at a fast pace. Lady of the West appeared high in flesh and was never a contender. Illowaho, show, out. Bill Massie, show, 1 to 2. Johnny McCartey, show, 1 to 2. Jake Weber was much the best, went to the front when his rider was ready and won pulling up. Jigger ran a good race and at the weights was much the best of the others. Lady Berkeley showed a good turn of speed and hung on gamely under punishment Crisscross ran a fair race and is worth remembering for early action. Candling was pinched off at the start. Prince Zeno was well handled, came with a great rush in the last eighth and after a short struggle with Chappaqua, shook the latter off and won drawing away. Chopin began slowly, but saved ground by hugging tha rail and finished strongly. Chappaqua followed Insolences pace closely and seemed like a sure winner at the stretch head, but tired in th run homo. Insolence displayed a good turn of speed for the first six furlongs but tired. G. W. W. came with a rush in the last three-eighths after a slow beginning. He ran away six furlongs after the finish. Scratched 34641 Ergo, 1C9; 34750 Lord-Falconer, 102.
