Meggs raced H. S. Tobacco into submission in the first three-eighths and came away after that and got second placed eased up. Boidlo was interfered with soon after the start, made up ground gradually and came with a rush through the stretch. Maple labored in the going. H. 8. Tobacco ran well for a half mile only. Sly Boots, lucky at the start, was at home in the going and set a fast pace in the first three-eighths, causing the others to labor to keep in striking distance and was pulled almost to a trot in the last sixteenth. Lansdown, away poorly, ran a remarkably good race and was much the best of the others. Gold Bride was off badly and was much used in the first quarter to make up ground. Spinet was well backed and had no mishaps. John Carney showed a flash, but weakened badly in the run home.
