Rag Tag wan much the best, revelled in the going and came away easily at call in the last eighth Inspector Shea finished strongly, getting up in time to nip Corinne Unland on the post. The latter began slowly, but moved up 1 fast after the first half had been run and finished stoutly. Caliban, under a vigorous ride, finished with a rush. Benmora showed speed, but tired fast when the pinch came. Bissett and Count Em Out appeared to labor in the going and were never serious contenders. This took all the vigor out of her and she had nothing left to finish with. Vulcain finished with a rush. Wainamoinen showed early speed. She runs to her best form on a fast track. Malay was badly outrun down the backstretch and was under punishment all through the last quarter. He finished resolutely, but had no chance to beat the winner.
