NOTES OF THE TURF. Julius Bauer, acting for A. Featherstone, has purchased from Mr. W. S. Payne, Mapleton Stud, Lexington, Ky., the following yearlings, all by Previous: Bay colt, dam Perfecto, by Duke of Magenta ; bay colt, dam Maria Lewis, by Long Dance ; bay colt, dam Annie Conyers.by Onondaga ;baycolt, damlCallie Howard, by Macduff; bay colt, dam Fannie Lyons, by Springbok ; bay filly, dam Irene, by Teuton; bay filly, dam Sonora, by Spendthrift; bay filly, dam Carrie T., by Long Dance. Subscriber, Cincinnati, O. 15, 6 and 3 is the ordinary quotation in such a field as you quote. Of course a horse might be sharply backed place and show, which would cut such odds down without affecting the straight odds. Our place and show quotations are post odds. The judgesat Hawthorne handed down the following decision yesterday: "The suspension of steeplechase jockey Corbley is removed, the condition of the horse, Dr. Nowlin, being found such as to account for his poor race." S. J. M., Chicago. Amy Wade won a dash of a mile and a sixteenth at Harlem, September 16, 1898, but none of a mile. C. 8., Detroit, Mich. They will not be published, being in connection with a State Fair.
