LITTLE ROCK WORK OUTS. Another perfect day brought out a host of horses at Clinton Park last Wednesday. Billy Kirwins colt, Matt Wadleigh, and Dr. Bernays Red Monarch had a pretty three-eighths race, Matt Wadleigh winning by a length in 37 1-5 seconds, with a lot up his sleeve. Inasmuch as he carried 116 pounds the move was a good one. Schreibers Foul Shot Voralia colt, Leopard, worked a nice five furlongs, the first half in 50 seconds, the whole distance in a fraction better than 1:04. Dewey had six furlongs in 1:19J, and seemed to be doing his best. Kings Lady showed the fastest six furlongs thus far,, in 1:16 4-5, but she has a bad leg. Tom Stevens Wadsworth Fancy Free filly, looks like a good one, and is the first youngster to split 50 seconds. Mr. Stevens has also a sister to Wyeth, which, though she does not work as fast as the Fancy Free filly, looks like a good one, and of the sort apt to show better in races than in the morning trials. Lee Bruno did a nice mile in 1:46, and the trainers here concede him a good chance in the Anheuser-Busch Stake, to be run on the last day of the meet-1 ing. Hughes is at Clinton Park with jockey i Helgesen, recently reinstated. The boy is ailing, but if he recovers will probably ride Barca in the Derby. C. Kelly will ride Charley Mahones candidate, Banter, and Fuller will have the leg up on Sigmund.
