Sam Fullen, away badly, improved his position gradually, came along on the outside in the last quarter with an electric rush and was much the best. He is about the best horse now in training here. Position, bumped at the start, trailed for six furlongs and put up a remarkable stretch run. Sweet Tooth, hard held, went into the lead on the far turn after indulging Jim Hale with the lead and appeared like winning, but fell away suddenly and unexpectedly came again. Jim Hale held on well today. Illowaho retired at the end of six furlongs. Billy Lyons went well. Scratched 378472Forest King, 110. Overweights Billy Lyons, 4 pounds. Sam Fullen, show, 2 to 5. Dainty, suddenly improved, was outrun for the first half, but finished with a tremendous rush through the last quarter and caught Princess Titania napping at the end. The latter followed the terrific early pace closely in the deep going next to the rail and finally took the lead when a sixteenth out and was unprepared for the winners rush. Beau Ormonde was crowded and outrun early and sulking palpably, but finished like a flash. Mocorito closed a great gap from the half to the wire. Sad Sam was probably short and will improve. Americano was bumped at the start, but displayed superior speed and was a sharp contender for five furlongs and should win soon. Dainty, show, 3 to 5. Princess Titania, show, 1 to 3. Fossil was prominent in forcing the pace and was crowded on the far turn, but recovered quickly and put up a game struggle through the last quarter under a vigorous ride. Clausus was benefited at the expense of the pacemakers for six furlongs and finished fast under a weak ride. Action was badly interfered with and relinquished his position on the far turn, then went into the lead in the stretch, but was again crowded to the rail and was beaten in the last few strides. Snare was always outrun. Past Master, nearly left, closed a gap. Gor-galete went a fast six furlongs and tired and will do to watch. Fossil, show, 1 to 4. Clausus, show, 3 to 5.
