NOTES OF THE TURF. The arrival of the Fleischmann string at Gravesend last Wednesday created quite a stir. Trainer Welsh has forty-two horses, two and three-year-olds, in the Fleischmann string. Among the lot are a number of highly bred colts and fillies imported from England, and are the progeny of celebrated sires and dams there. Aladdin, Golden Wishes, Qeta Blackburn, John McGurk, The Conqueror II. and Scotch Plaid are additional declarations from the Hawthorne Handicap, making twenty-six to date. The declaration of Aladdin is regretable, bnt unavoidable, this sterling colt having been bo injured recently as to force a let-up in training. Phil Dwyer has engaged Willie Simms to ride the horses in his stable for the coming season. It is within the bounds of possibility, too, that Simms will ride for Mike Dwyer, though this is not certain. Morinel, the Morello mare which won about twenty-five races during her turf career, has been sent to Harry Stovers Pet-aluma track to be mated with Kenilworth. S. C. Hildreth last Wednesday bought from Ed Trotter the two-year-old colt Myron Dale, which Trotter claimed out of a selling race. The terms were private.
