NOTES OF THE TURF. H. J. B., Chicago. Your parlay was a winner on Young Henry, place, only at 2 to 1. Hunter Raine does not win for you. Charles B., Chicago. Manshak was third by four lengths and not by a head, as bad copy holding made it. W. A. N., St Louis, Mo. The mile record on a straight course is 1:35J, made by Sal-vator, 4, 110, at Monmouth Park, August 28, 1890. The record over an ordinary oval track is 1:37|, made by Brigadier, 4, 112, at Sheeps-head Bay, June 22, 1901. B. H., Chicago. The Withers mile is an ordinary oval mile course made by a cut-off from the backstretch to the homestretch of the big main track at Morris Park. The main track is 1 3-8 miles in circumference.
