St. Paula was much the best, displayed keen speed throughout arid won as her rider pleased and was eased up all through the final sixteenth. Soldier of Fortune came with a rush under a strong ride at the end, getting up in time to nip Tom Rees on the post. The lpiter tired palpably in the last hundred yards. Goal Runner showed improvement and came with a great rush at the end after making up ground fast in the last half. Miss Hume tired fast in the final eighth after showing much early speed. Angelo finished going fast and would have been third in a few more strides. Carrie I. as usual faltered when the pinch came. Gus Lanka was bumped out of position just as the barrier went up and had little chance thereafter.
