Prince Light held his field all the way, raced Sweet Charity to exhaustion in the first half and had enough in reserve to stall off Ethel Davis challenge at the end. The latter ran her race and was under a hard drive all of the last quarter. Blackmore began slowly, but closed a big gap and finished fast. This one is worth remembering. Easter Boy and Weird tired. North Wind saved ground at the turn into the homestretch, but tired. Scratched— 38811 Honeybrook, 106. Prince Light, show, 6 to 5. Ethel Davis, show, evens. Blackmore, show, 2 to 1. Won driving; second easily. Scipio wore Jim Ferrin down while rounding the far turn and outstayed him in a long drive all through the last quarter. Jim Ferrin is a rapid breaker and showed the most early speed, and although tiring hung on gamely to the end. Probable ran like a good colt, began slowly, but made up a lot of ground and outgamed Circular Joe at the finish. Lampadrome ran well to the stretch. Marvin and C. B. Williams were very green at the post, broke well and then propped. Scratched— 39059sFort Warden, 111. Overweights — Circular Joe, 5 pounds. Scipio, show, 2 to 1. Jim Ferrin, show, 2 to 1. Khaki was reserved to the stretch, where he caught Harlem* Lane tiring, finished fast and was going away at the end. Harlem Lane broke from the extreme" outside and set a fast pace, but seems unable to go over a half at full speed. Quiz was bumped into soon after the start, but finished fast after coming wide at the turn into the homestretch. Lovable can do better and so can Premus. Stumpy showed the most early speed and opened up what seemed a winning lead in the first quarter, but was tiring at the end and just managed to last long enough to stall off a challenge from Silk Maid. The latter never got to going well until in the last furlong, but came very fast at the end and would have won in another stride Lyrist was under a drive all of the last furlong. Wall About was used up in chasing Hurry, was probably a bit short and tired when it came to a drive. Hurry showed much early speed, but tired after going three-quarters. Vogue got caught in a jam on the backstretch and was interfered with at the furlong post, but outgamed Senor in the final drive. The latter was used too much in chasing Kilmorie in the first half and tired when called on. Kilmorie ran well to the stretch.
