Stub broke clear of a tangled field, quickly opened up a big gap and never gave the others a chance. Cressida did her best throughout. Dotty Shute showed great improvement and put up a good stretch run. Anzeiger and Ed Bishop ran good races from where they got off. Centie got off badly, but ran poorly also and can do better. Won driving; second easily, Dr. Kammerer opened up a big gap while rounding the turn into the stretch, but tired in the final furlong and barely lasted long enough to beat El Caney. The latter ran in improved form and finished gamely. Jessie Y. was poorly ridden, but finished well. General Dix passed her, but she ran into third place when Monroe shook her up and is evidently a fair mare in such company. General Dix closed up a lot of ground under a Weak ride. Hilee iloundered in the soft surface and could not get to striding freely. He wants a fast track to show his best. Scorpio made a fast move at the three-eighths, then quitbadly and can do better. Cherished trailed her field to the stretch, then came with a rush and fairly ran away from the others from the eighth post home. Brown Vail was allowed to use her speed injudici-r ously and tired when challenged in the stretch. Pharoah had a decidedly rough trip and about ran his race. Pirateer raced under restraint to the stretch, but failed to respond* when called on. The Black Scot was a contender when cut off and came again at the end. Our Lady, like Pirateer, raced under a pull to the stretch, then quit.
