Tax Man caught the leaders tiring in the stretch run home and outgamed them in the .final drive. This race shows him to be right on edge. Fitzbrillar ran right to his form, I but was tiring perceptibly and had all he could do to save second place. Sly Boots would I j| have been second in another stride. Andrattus ran his best race. Daryl was waited with until on the second turn of the field when Pemberton called on him, 1 and after catching Arius tiring he came away in the stretch. Billy Ray finished well and got second place in a hard drive. Too much use was made of Arius and he had nothing : left at the finish. He then came away on call, but Scortic could probably have I won had her rider been so inclined. The" latter ran a good race. Andy Williams was doing 1 his best, but was giving away too much weight. Nimble Dick had to be driven . to the limit to stall off J. I. Mc at the end. The latter had no mishaps and was favored • by the start, but tired in the final strides.
