LOCAL TURF GOSSIP. C. C. McCafferty arrived yesterday from Latonia with the horses Lode Star, Golden Light, Fair Lady Anna, North Wind, Quiz. Tufts and Antolee. Jockey S. Bonner, who is under contract to him, will do the lightweight riding for J. B. Respess tne remainder of the current meeting. The latter will also look after the riders engagements. M. Goldblatt arrived yesterday at Washington Park with twelve horses, including Brief, Latson, Travers, Boaster and Five Nations. Several of the starters in the M. Lewis Clark Stakes met with much interference and Estrada Palma was badly jumped on and had the pastern on his hind leg nearly cut in two. Gregor K. also received a slight cut on one of his hind legs. Savable, in addition to having his saddle slip, received a slight cut on one of his hind legs. The injury to the last two named were decidedjy slight, but the mishap to Estrada Palma is considered serious and will keep him from starting again for some time. J. P. Mayberry, while on his way to the post, got the better of his jockey and jumped the outside fence, but making a bad landing the rider was unseated and the horse ran around the stable yards until caught by several stable boys, remounted by his rider and led back on the track through the gap at the lower turn. _ The rumor that the Washington Park Club would raise the price of admission on Derby day to was last night denied by the management. The charge will be , the same as heretofore. Gin Spray, which started in the sixth race, blundered while going around the first turn, and Lady Eon being unable to avoid running into him knocked him down. Jockey William, who had the mount, had his left wrist badly sprained.
