Goo Goo ran a good race and closed up stoutly in the stretch. Venus Victrix went well throughout Helen Hav did not like the going. Miss Eon began slowly and made up much ground. Stand Pat was well rated to the stretch, then gamely answered a vigorous ride and wore Bas dOr down in the stretch run. Bas dOr was pinched into the deepest going in the first half, then taken back and rushed around to the front. He seemed to be a certain winner to the last eighth, where he tired and Bridwell let him swerve into the deepest going when he whipped him. Deutschland was high in flesh and tired after going a half. Gates appeared in good form after his long rest, set a fast pace, was well managed and Troxler outrode Austin at the end. Light Opera went well all the way and came into the stretch in the best going, but Austin to?k him inside of W. B. Gates into the bad track and got him beaten. He was wearing the winner down at the end and probably was best. Menace ran a good race for a first out in a long time. The Way ran his race.
