Lovable wore down the leaders in the stretch run and outgamed them when it came to the final drive. The Goldfinder showed the most early speed and will bear watching, but tired a trifle at the end. St. AArood ran to his best form and had no mishaps. Jake Greenberg had no apparent mishaps. Olonetz finished fast after being outrun in the first part of the race. Grand Mary ran well to the stretch. Arachne showed the most early speed and raced Little Emmy to exhaustion in the first part of the race, but was doing her best at the end to stall off Chickadee. The latter came again at the end, and finishing fast, was wearing the winner down in the last sixteenth. Lady of the West closed a big gap, caught Menace tiring and outgamed her in the final drive. Menace was crowded back at the first turn and was in a pocket most of the journey. Behoove tired. Scratched 42503Antolee. 107; 34495 Four Tens, 95. Arachne, show, 1 to 2. Chickadee, show, 7 to 10. The latter got caught in a jam when going to the first jump and was crowded back, then closed a big gap, but the effort told at the end and he tired. Songer did not persevere with him when he saw he was beaten. Itacatiarn ran his race and pulled up lame. Percy R. bolted outside of the wing of the third jump. Scratched 42477 Faraday, Jr., 125. Rhyl wore Oudon down when rounding the turn into the homestretch and drew away without much effort in the last furlong. Oudon showed a good burst of early speed, but was made too much use of setting the pace and tired in the stretch. Henry Lyons got away tangled up, but ran to his best form. Segraves dropped out of it after going a quarter well and ran , ery green. Circular Joe ran poorly and was never dangerous. Scratched cC3o3 Cohassett, 102; Major T. J. Carson, 102. Serge held his field safe all the way, raced Vestry and John Coulter into submission and drew away in the last sixteenth. Flora Bright was crowded back on the first turn, but made up a lot of ground and outgamed John Coulter at the end. The latter tired in the last fifty yards, was probably a bit short and the race should improve him. Vestry was eased up in the last furlong. Kilmorie tired when the pinch came. Amorous began slowly and was on the outside for the entire trip, but closed up fast in the last furlong and just got up in the last stride. First Attempt wTas hustled all the way and was used too much in racing after Prince Light in the first half and was tiring at the end. Flying Girl finished next to the inside rail and was in close quarters all through the homestretch. Barkelmore was away all tangled up and came very wide at the turn into the homestretch. Naulahka tired in the last furlong. Caterpillar was virtually left and closed a big gap. Scratched 42414 Fair Lady Anna, 94. Amorous, show, 2 to 1. First Attempt, show, out.
