Silvermeade came wide at the turn into the homestretch and caught Docile tiring in the stretch run and had to stand a hard drive all of the last sixteenth to stall off a challenge from Trossachs. The latter finished fast and was catching the winner at every stride. Tribune got away all tangled up, closed a big gap and finished with a rush and just managed to get up in time to nose Docile out. The latter was much used in going to the front in the run down the backstretch and might have been a stronger contender with a more judicious ride. Overweights Trossachs, 2 pounds; Echinate, 1$. Fuller took the short route with him, saved ground at the turn into the homestretch and outfinished Cochran on Sadducee when the final drive came. The latter was outrun in the first quarter and had to go around the leaders on the outside to get up, had Little Jack Horner beaten seemingly at the sixteenth post, but tired in the last few strides. Scorpio dropped back at the furlong post, but came again at the end and was gaining on the leaders. Joe Goss ran to his best form. Cardinal Wolsey ran to his best form and held his field safe for the entire trip. Bobbins rated him along in front under restraint for the first half and he drew away from the field while rounding the turn into the homestretch, but was under a drive all of the last sixteenth. Dutiful ran his race, was wearing the winner down in the final furlong and would have beaten him in another sixteenth. Spencerian finished well and was easily best of the others. Sextette dropped out of it after going a half. Apple Bloom was crowded back at the start. Scratched 43231 Overhand, 87. Corrected weights Cardinal Wolsey, 107. NEW ORLEANS FORM CHART-CONTINUED. ! in the last few strides. Falkland slipped through on the inside at the eighth post and was hard ridden all of the last furlong, but tired at the end. Short Cake was much used in setting the earlv pace with Lady Walter and showed early speed, but tired when the final drive came. Lady Walter and Edna Edwards ran well to the stretch and were eased up when beaten. Edward Hale closed a big gap after going all around his field and finished fast. Stonewall ran an excellent race and finished gamely. Hayward Hunter moved up fast on the turn out of the backstretch and seemed like the winner at the furlong post, but tired when the final struggle came. Badger set the pace under restraint until well straightened out for home, but tired when Minder called on him. Siddons was outrun all the way and was never a factor. The latter closed up fast while rounding the turn into the homestretch, but tired slightly at the end. Responsive began slowly and went all around the field, closed a big gap and finished very fast. This one is worth remembering. Major Carpenter showed a rare turn of early speed, but ran out at the turn into the homestretch. Escalera quit badly. Overweights Mr. Pickwick, 2? pounds; Glenfio, I.
