NOTES OF THE TURF. Jockey Meade arrived in Chicago yesterday from New York and will remain here for I several days, as ho said, "to visit friends" before his departure to Germany, Jan. 2. j Meade has a contract to ride there for a wealthy banker owning an extensive stable. Starter A. B. Dade has been re-engaged for the season of 1904 at Kinloch, Delmar and the Fair Grounds, and under the agreement cannot start at Nashville as he did last spring. Fling, Chicago. 3 to 1 was the post price at? the track against Class. If any betting quotation is entitled to be called "official," it is that which actually was laid at the track. Pat Dunne has lost by death the yearlings Cutlass, by Pirate of Penzance Quelta, and Beggar, by Lazzarone Breakwater. J. H. Baker and Co. and W. J. Young will ship their strings from Lexington, Ky., to Nashville the first week in January.
