NASHVILLE STAKES. Stakes for the Cumberland Park spring meeting, April 21 to 30 inclusive, have been announced. Five added money events are offered, of which the Derby, one and one-eighth miles, ,500, is the feature. The , purses and handicaps will also be increased, the association hanging up in all 3,000, an average of more than ,500 daily for the nine days. Entries will close January 25, 1904. The list follows: Cumberland Derby, ,500 added, for three-year-olds, one and one-eighth miles; Citizens Handicap, ,500 added, for three-year-olds and upward, one mile; Gerst Selling Stakes, ,000 added, for three-year-olds and upward, one mile and seventy yards; Avondale Stakes, ,000 added, for two-year-olds, five furlongs; Belle Meade Stakes, ,000 added, for two-year-old fillies, four and a half furlongs.
