MAY REVIVE WASHINGTON PARK CLUB. Prominent Members Said to Contemplate Reorganization of the Famous South Side Institution. It is intimated, with what measure of accuracy remains to be developed, that a number of influential members of the late Washington Park Club have been In conference concerning the advisability and means of reorganizing the club and retaining the famous track, grounds and buildings Intact, making the property the home of golf and kindred open air diversions. There is nothing within the borders of Chicago that has contributed more to its fame abroad than the Washington Park Club and its race of races, the American Derby. The latter is probably strictly a matter of turf history, but it is feasible to rebuild and retain the Washington Park Club as a Chicago Institution of great memories and it is to be sincerely hoped that the gentlemen who are said to have that public spirited end in view will succeed in encompassing It.
