Fanny, away well and showing improved form under a hustling ride, wore down the leaders after going a half mile and, standing a drive gamely, lasted long enough. Black Pat came with a belated rush from a slow Mr-ginning, aiilshlng fast, aatl would have- vmx at A-lonserjUsinnce. Buxom, probably best, ran out on the stretch turn, losing much ground, then finished with a rush. Verbosity ran a good race under good handling. Quaint suffered from interference. Slow Poke followed the leaders closely for the first half under restraint, was lucky to secure an opening into the stretch and, under a hard drive, got up In the final stride. Allbert, well ridden, showed the most early speed, but tired slightly in the final drive. Optional began slowly, but closed a big gap, finished with a rush and was best. Red Raven was raced into exhaustion in the first half. Invasion ran in improved form. Girdle quit. Goldsmith ran a fair Ualf and tired as if short. Burning Glass was given a bad ride and ran poorly. Luretta ran as if she outclassed her opponents, set a fast pace and came away with eae when called on. Lucky Charm moved up gamely when called upon and, through sharp practice by Mclntyre, Interfered with Tartan in the stretcli. thereby securing second place; Tartan was badly ridden and not permitted to get fully into his stride, but was going fast in the stretch when cut off and, after being forced to ease up and go to the side of Lucky Charm, was fast wearing down the latter and would have been second in a few more strides. Lady ashti began slowly and went extremely wide on all turns, finished with rare gameness under a hard drive and won going away fast. Calabash, hard ridden to keep up in the early stages, saved ground when turning into the stretch and assumed the lead momentarily, but tired and possibly is staling. Aan Ness forced the early pace and appeared well beaten at the stretcli head, but came again and would have been second in a few more strides. Cousin Kate showed much speed, but quit badly. Won driving; second the same. Bonnie Prince Charlie, lucky and clear of Interference, moved up steadily for the first three-quarters, then stood a hard drive well through the last furloug and outgamed Decoration. The latter was an active contender from the start, forcing the pace and hanging on gamely until within a few strides of the finish. Wedgwood suffered from -much interference, finished goiug fast and was probably best. Jerry Lynch put up a good performance. Fair Calypso quit. Antimony was crowded and fell in the stretch, but was well beaten at the time. Ruth W. anil Mahogany were knocked out of it at the start. Overweights Holloway, 2 pounds.
