A rumor has been In circulation here to the effect that If there is a meeting at Montgomery Park this sprfnglt "will" be Independent of the govermfrejit of cither the Western Jockey Club or the American Turf Association. President Montgomery Is now at Hot Springs, but when asked concerning this over the long distance telephone today he said: -That is a matter for the executive committee of the New Memphis Jockey Club to determine, but I presume that it will remain loyal to the Western Jockey Club and that the rules of that body will govern If there is racing."
