KELLY TO TRAIN RESPESS HORSES. Cincinnati, O., February 0. Frank Kelly, formerly trainer for Edward Corrigan, has been engaged by J. It. Respess to handle his horses this year.. He will leave for Louisville in a few days witli the youngsters which are to make up the Respess stable. Kespess will be busy at his farm nearly, all spring. The first of the mares bred to Dick Welles last Spring is due to foal in about a week aud the breed- ing season Is now on. Dick Welles will serve about thirty mares this year. Speakingof relative merits of Orly nud Phil Finch, Mr. Respess said today: "I do not belive Phil Finch can make Orly gallop, both horses at their best. Orly is a racehorse, . every inch of kim. He trails his opponents and beats them In a sixteenth of a mile. The best two-year-olds at New Orleans are in George nolles barn. Neither of the tracks Is losing money now. City Parks losses were light from the very outset, but before the first of the present year the "old track lost a lot of it."
