Valeureuse was off well and ran close up to the stretch, where she challenged and, passing Into the lead, won drawing away. Kamsack ran a good race and easily held Calmar safe. The latter closed a gap, finished well and is- likely to do better. Van Loan ran in improving form. Napnagootls showed speed, but tired. Jack Gilroy ran poorly. Marshal Ney gained steadily from the start and ran into the lend on the backstretch, but lost ground on the turn into the homestretch and had to be shaken np to withstand a challenge from Chimney Sweep. The latter was favored by the going and finished fast and gaining under punishment. Ramus was unlucky and shigglsh in the early stages, hut came through the stretch with a rush. The latter ran far back in the early stages, but finished with a rush. Ninnasquaw showed much the most early siieed, but tired in the stretcli drive. Gentle Harry ran forwardly for three-quarters.
