Woolma, after securing a flying start, led by a wide early gap, but finally succumbed to the favorite after a game closing drive, and is promising. Charley Payne was a prominent and game contender throughout, is a good looker and also promising. Yankee Jim was never dangerous. Ramiro. away badly, made up some ground on the outside. Royal Colors, striding at the start, maintained a lucky forward position In pursuit of the pacemaker to the stretch, where he finished with a rush and won going away. Midmont, away slowly, closed up gradually into a fast going second on the Inside and can do better. Captain Burnett began slowly, but improved his position on the extreme outside and, in a cyclonic stretcli run, barely failed to get up for second place. Dick Wilson, a good looker, set the pace by a wide margin to the last sixteenth before he tired and will improve. Pepper-pod showed good early speed and was palpably short. Lady Kent is very good, got away slowly and was outrun for the first half, then came along with a fast, but belated end rush. Mr. Farnum, nearly left, closed a tremendous gap and Is near his !est form. Ethel Abbott ran forwardly for six furlongs, but failed to stay. Canejo loomed up midway of the stretch, but tired unexpectedly at the end. Standard showed superior speed for six furlongs. Lady Goodrich, badly messed about and repeatedly shut off, was pulled up at a critical point on the last turn and finished an easy third. Throw out the race. Clydco put up a game race at the weight and was running fast at the end. Christine A. tired in the last furlong. Supreme Court, better in sloppy going, forced the early pace and tired.
